The first meeting of HUPE Zagorje Branch in school year 2019/2020

Dear colleagues,

The first meeting of HUPE Zagorje Branch in school year 2019/2020 will take place on the 15th November  2019 (Friday) at 3.00 pm. It will be held at Srednja škola Bedekovčina, (Ljudevita Gaja 1, Bedekovčina).

Agenda:

  • Sanja Rašković: The magic of Storytelling

Storytelling We tell stories every day and we like listening to the stories. Why not use them in the classroom then. Why not create stories with our students using the grammar and vocabulary they already know.In this workshop I will demonstrate some exercises and show how easily you can create stories with your students.

  • Anita Jokić:   Story of a friendship: Tom Jones and Elvis Presley

Love interdisciplinary lessons? Believe in life-long friendships? Come and enjoy a good story, listen to great music, watch a video, do a bit of acting, expand your vocabulary, play a quiz and research, create newspaper covers, laugh, and have fun. So will your students. Materials provided.

  • Petra Blajić: 28th IATEFL POLAND Conference in Gdansk – dissemination

Dissemination of an international conference, plus useful information on ideas, tips and tricks on how and why to apply and attend international conferences abroad.

HUPE Split Meeting Invitation

Communication skills are crucial components in preparing students for future work opportunities. Making students talk in English is challenging and demanding task for every teacher. Use of digital tools makes it easier and less stressful. This workshop outcomes are: teacher learns how to make introduction and cover the topic using digital tools.

Alenka Miljević will share her experience about experimental programme School for life in practice in the round table format. Topics to be addressed are planning, assessment and use of new technologies in teaching English.

HUPE – Branch Karlovac

HUPE – Branch Karlovac will run its third meeting in the school year 2018/2019  on Thursday, 9 May 2019 at 19 10 p.m.  in Industry and Trade Vocational School, Domobranska 2, Karlovac.

It is a pleasure to announce that Konrad Kellett, a teacher trainer, will run a workshop School for Life goals: Classroom to real life!

Conrad Kellett has been a teacher, teacher trainer and director of studies for many years, working predominately in the UK and Croatia where he currently resides. Conrad teaches across all age ranges and is still actively teaching both primary and secondary children in Croatia. This enables him to see the best of both worlds and exploit the advantages of both. He is also an examiner for several of the most prestigious English examinations.  He regularly delivers teacher training workshops on behalf of Pearson, The British Council, Study group International and View Magazine. With an educational background in English language and Literature he has a passion for encouraging students and teachers to be creative and ambitious in lessons. He believes creativity is the key to memorable lessons and effective learning outcomes.

In this workshop, Conrad Kellett will show how to create a pathway to blend the classroom and real-life situations. During the workshop we will look at strategies and activities that will enable our students to take a more central role in their learning experience, encourage independent learning and facilitate communicative language communication and cultural communication competence. We have the tools at our disposal we just have to utilise them!
