The day everything changed

I have decided to write about the topic "The day everything changed" as I truly believe that this day changed a whole year for my family. This day is the 8th of October, which is a special day every year, it's my favourite grandma's birthday so each year we celebrate it and we enjoy it together. But this year was more special.

On the morning on 8th October started very normal, it seemed like a very usual day. I woke up early as it was a school day, I have prepared my school bag, had breakfast and ran to catch a bus. On my way to school I have met my friends and talked with them about my grandma's birthday and the present I have prepared. This year I was creative, so instead of buying her a present, I have written a funny poem about my grandima and printed some lovely pictures. I hope she will love it. School was exciting as we had couple of exams and we have learned interesting new things. During our break I had playtime with my friend which was also fun. Like almost every day after school, I went to visit my grandma, but today I was even more excited. Together with my parents, aunt and uncle, I have planned a dinner party and celebration of grandma's birthday. Some of grandma's favourite friends were also invited for the dinner.

Once I have arrived at my grandma's house, I was very surprised. No one was home and that was very strange. I have called everyone, my mom, dad, grandma, aunt but no one responded. I was worried. I was thinking - what could have happened that no one was home, it must be something important. Finally, my mom responded and she told me that everyone was in the hospital. But it was nothing bad, they had exciting news for everyone. After long nine months my aunt was funally giving birth. What great news! I hoped she would give birth today so we would have a double party! Until they come home, I have prepared everything for the party. I have decorated the house, put colorful balloons and turned on the music. Once my parents and grandma came back from the hospital, they were surprised by my decorations. Food and drinks were prepared, and we even had a big birthday cake. I couldn't wait for the party to start! Grandma's friends have also arrived. We have started our dinner but still there was no news from the hospital. We were very impatient to hear the great news about my baby cousin. Kiara was finally born in the evening, at half past eight. After that, all of us were even happier and it was finally time to start the double party! This was a great but long day as we were waiting that whole day for the baby to arrive.

It was a day that truly changed everything. Now, we have a reason to celebrate double birthdays on 8th of October every year and have a little cousin to play with. I'm happy I can watch her grow and change every day, it is really a miracle. She is still very small but after a few months she started to smile at me and I can't wait to teach her her first words.
