The Day That Changed Everything

Every happy story starts with once upon a time, so here it goes. Once upon a time there was a girl named Violet. She had many wonderful things, lots of toys, electronics, and luxury school supplies. She was incredibly grateful for everything that she had, but she often felt lonely and always wanted somebody to make her company.

On Christmas Eve her cousin Olivia came over, and they were resting and drinking hot chocolate in Violet's room after long hours of decorating the house. Olivia sipped her hot chocolate and said: "It's already Christmas Eve..." "Time flies when you're having fun!" said Violet. "I want a new laptop for Christmas. What about you?" asked Olivia. "I have always wanted a sibling, but after my mom had me, she could not have more kids. I wish I had somebody to play with. I will not tell my parents though, it is the holidays, and they deserve to rest." said Violet. Olivia asked: "You are sure you want a sibling? I know what it's like to have a sibling; it is not always the best thing. My sister Lily can sometimes be very annoying." "Trust me, I thought about it a lot and I am sure i want a sibling." said Violet. "All right, if you say so. Oh, I got to go. My parents told me I must get home by 20 o' clock." said Olivia. "Oh, okay. See you!" said Violet. "See you!" said Olivia while walking to the door and leaving the house.

Violet got the idea to write a letter to her parents for Christmas. They did a lot of things to make her happy, so she wanted to show her appreciation by writing a letter! She took a pen and paper and started writing:

"Dear mom and dad, you have done so much for me and I am so happy to have you. I could not imagine better parents than you. I wish you the best for Christmas and the New Year.

-love, Violet."

Violet planned to give the note to her parents on Christmas day.

Violet heard her mom calling her, so she came, curious about what she wanted. Her mom asked: "Violet, do you want to decorate these gingerbread men with me? It will be fun!" "I'm up for it!" said Violet. Violet and her mom started decorating the gingerbread men with whipped cream and sprinkles. They were making scarfs, sweaters, and boots for the gigerbread men with the whipped cream. At the end, they added sprinkles to the gingerbread men's clothes to make them look more colorful and fun. "These look tasty, don't they?" said Violet's mom. "They're the tastiest of all cookies!" said Violet.

Violet heard her dad calling her. She came and her dad asked her: "Violet, do you want to watch a Christmas movie with me?" "I'd like that!" said Violet. After watching the movie, Violet and her dad were talking. "Violet, you never told me what you would like for Christmas this year.," said her dad. Violet said: "Oh, it does not matter to me what i get for Christmas. I just want he best for everyone. Seeing other people happy makes me happy too!" "You have such a kind heart." said Violet's dad. "Thank you, that means a lot to me... It is midnight, i should go to sleep now. Good night, dad!" said Violet. "Good night!" said Violet's dad.

Violet tried to fall asleep. She was so excited for tomorrow, wondering how it will go. Because of that excitement, she could not fall asleep. After hours of tossing and turning in her bed she heard some noise. She got up and started looking around. Her dad was talking to somebody on the phone. She spied on the conversation. "So, I should be there at seven?... Okay, I will see you tomorrow, bye." said her dad while talking on the phone. He ended the call and saw her. "Violet, what are you doing here?!" asked her dad. "A better question is what you are doing. Why were you having a phone call this late?!" asked Violet. Her dad said: "...I think you should go to sleep." "You are right, I should, and you should too. Good night." said Violet. Violet got to her room and eventually fell asleep.

On Christmas day, she woke up around none o' clock, feeling extremely excited. She took the letter she wrote for her parents and got up to them. "Merry Christmas!" said Violet. "Merry Christmas to you too!" said Violet's parents. Violet gave them the letter. They hugged her and thanked her after reading it. After breakfast, it was time to open the presents. Violet saw a big box with a flashy ribbon on it. "Open it!" said Violet's mom. Violet opened the present and saw a little boy inside it. "Who are you?" asked Violet. The boy said: "I'm Anthony!" "We adopted him, he's your brother now!" said Violet's dad "I heard you talking about wanting a sibling, so here he is!" said Violet's mom. Violet teared up and huggerher parents and Anthony. She was so happy and could not stop thanking her parents. Violet, her parents, uncle, aunt, Olivia and her sister Lily had Christmas lunch at a fancy restaurant.

Violet considered this day the best day of her life, a day that changed everything. She did not think she would ever have a sibling, but hey, now she had a brother she loved with her whole heart, and she was very happy about it.
