My name is Stella, and I'm going to tell you my story.
I was getting ready for school, but then I heard a scream from the kitchen.
Aaahhh! Yelled my little sister.
What is it, Luna?
I spilled milk all over my shirt!
That's not something to yell about! Go change and I'll clean it up, I said. I cleaned up the mess, and then we went to school.
There's Olivia! Hi bestie! My friend Olivia is the best. She always helps me with everything, plus her parents are really nice.
How are you doing, Olivia?
Fine, you?
I'm OK. Did you study for the exam today?
Stella, I mean, who wouldn't? It's worth 50% of our grade!
I know, but rumor has it the "cool kids" didn't study and are going to copy off of us.
Hello, losers. We saw a girl from class coming up to us.
What do you want, Cassidy? Olivia asked.
I wanted you to know that I'm going to get a perfect score on our exam today, she replied.
And how is that, Cassidy? I asked.
Daddy's going to buy it for me. I bet yours couldn't buy it.
Our dads don't want to buy it for us because they want us to learn something in school, not just buy our way to good grades, we said almost in unison. Now, if you don't mind, we will be going, said Olivia.
The bell rang for class. We went to the classroom for the exam. I sat in the middle row, second seat. The exam was really easy.
I went home after that, only to find out my parents were fighting.
Oh, honey, you're home!
Mom, why are you and Dad fighting again?
Oh, honey, said my Mom, we aren't fighting.
Then what are you doing? I asked.
Uhm... Never mind that, how was school? Dad asked me.
It was fine. I'm going to my room now.
I went up to my room and secretly listened to their conversation.
I got the papers, just sign them so this can be over, said my Dad.
Aren't we going to tell Stella first? Mom asked.
I started tearing up hearing my Dad's words. I ran downstairs crying.
Why are you crying, dear? Asked my Mom.
Why am I crying? I said in tears. I think we both know the answer to that question.
Oh, honey, said Mom. I know that it will be hard for you and Luna, but your Dad and I are just not meant to be.
So stop crying and go to your room, said Dad.
Well, could Luna and I live with Mom?
Sure, that will be best for everyone, Dad said.
It's settled then, said Mom. Honey, we are moving to LA tomorrow after you and Luna finish school.
Mom, why can't we stay here? It is going to be hard without Olivia, I said.
I'm sorry, dear, but I got a big new job in LA, so we can't stay here. Jason, here are the bills for the house, it is not my problem anymore. Stella, dear, go and pack, please.
I went to pack my things. I went to sleep as soon as I finished dinner.
Sis, why are we moving, and why isn't Dad coming with us? my sister asked me.
Luna, don't worry about it too much. Go to sleep, everything will be OK, I told her.
The next day we went to the airport. Flight for LA, boarding at gate number 2. We boarded the plane, took our seats, and then the airplane started take off. We landed in LA around 9:30 PM. We took a taxi that drove us to the house we were going to live in. The house was very big, had a pool, three master bedrooms, and one baby room. It had a cinema, a bowling alley, and a lot of bathrooms.
Mom, how come we're living in a house this big?
Oh honey, this was my family's house before we left home and got our own houses, Mom said.
We went inside and unpacked.
Honey, do you want a tour of the house? Mom asked.
Sure. Luna, come with us! I called for my sister.
After the tour, we went to bed.
After a while I was invited to a sleepover at a new friend's house. We ate snacks, played fun games and had so much fun. The year went by so fast, and I actually loved it in LA.
After I finished high school and college, I started my own business in LA. I invested in sewing and making clothes.
Turns out moving was a good thing after all!
