Isn't the friendship the best thing that can happen to anyone? In fact, it is. Someone you can trust and never let go. That is why best friends exist. They are like friends but ten times more trustworthy. Best friends are like brother or sister from another family. Everyone's dream is to have someone that can represent their friendship. Or even better, more than one friend. Like three, four or even five. Imagine having that many best friends you can hang out with. That is what Layla thought before everything went down.
Meet Taylor, Aurora and Sophia, Layla's best friends. That friendship was so tight, it felt like a dream. Everything was perfect in it. Firstly Layla and Taylor were best friends until they met Aurora and Sophia and became best friends with them. Four young girls sharing all their secrets in Layla's home. It was the nicest and the warmest place where they would always hang out. They were making colorful drinks, sharing gossips about everyone in their school and about their crushes too. Layla was so happy because she had this strong friendship. She was so proud of their little circle. She felt safe in it. She could finally be herself in it. It was relaxing and she was grateful for it. These three girls were the only thing she never wanted to let go. Summer came and Layla wasn't going anywhere and so was Aurora. Taylor and Sophia were at their cottages so Layla asked Aurora to hang out with her. It was the most memorable summer for both of them. They were hanging out twenty four hours a week. Layla and Aurora bonded perfectly and became even more closer to each other. But they were still best friends with Sophia and Taylor. Soon Sophia came from her cottage and started hanging out with Layla and Aurora. Only Taylor was the one that wasn't there. Taylor was sad because she missed her best friend Layla so she invited her to her cottage on Hvar. Layla was so excited about it. She even counted days until she meets Taylor. That day came faster than she expected. When Layla got off the ferry, Taylor ran to her and hugged her tightly. That moment looked so sweet that you would never expect that friendship will end soon. Layla and Taylor weren't the only ones in her cottage. There was Taylor's cousin Diana. Diana was a nice girl, but she was very possessive and jealous on friendship between Layla and Taylor. In every moment she tried to ruin their relationship. But she as unsuccessful. After so many tries she finally got an idea how to end their friendship forever. Layla wasn't aware about Diana's evil plan. After a few days Layla had to go home. Summer ended and school started so four best friends reunited in full force. Layla noticed some changes in Taylor's behavior but she thought she just imagined it. The beginning of the new school year was so fun for them so they decided to spend the whole school year in that mood. Also because it was their last school year in primary school. Each of them were special in their own way. Layla was the most sociable, Aurora was nice but a bit naïve, Sophia was the most popular one and Taylor was the quietest one. Although very different, together they were too strong and unstoppable. Taylor was very connected with her relatives, especially with her cousin Diana. Most of the time Taylor couldn't hang out with them because her parents were too strict. Slowly she felt like she was out of the group. Layla didn't expect that Taylor would start to blame her for it. Taylor started to speak behind her back. She affected Aurora the most because she was known as a naïve person and she believed everything she was told. Layla started to become popular in class and school thanks to Sophia. Because of it, Taylor started to get more jealous. She never had courage to tell about her insecurities but lies were her only tools.
The day that changed everything has come. It looked like a normal Friday to Layla but when she entered the classroom, she saw all the girls in a corner whispering something. When girls saw her they immediately ran away and started to ignore her. Layla was confused about sudden behavior of girls. She sat on the table where Taylor and her usually sit but Taylor sat next to Maria. It was very strange because Taylor didn't like Maria. Maria was a problematic girl that made troubles. Layla watched in disbelief how is it possible that Aurora and Sophia are just standing there. At that moment, nothing was clear to her and she felt like she was alone in the whole world. She started crying but everyone ignored her. After she was shocked she decided to take things in her own hands and talk to each girl individually. No one was brave enough to tell her what happened. Suddenly, Maria approached Layla acting friendly by telling her a bunch of lies. Maria told that Taylor was spreading gossips calling Layla double-faced and a fake friend. When Layla heard these lies about her, she felt anger building up in her. Layla told Maria that she will never be friends with all of them and that she doesn't need Taylor in her life anymore. Maria immediately ran to Taylor to share what she heard from Layla and to add some more spice to it. After that Taylor decided to make Layla miserable. Days after, Layla started to get bullied especially from the loudest girls Maria and Sophia. Layla was getting worse and worse every day. Luckily there was Tara - the smartest girl in the class. She felt sorry for her because she went through the same thing with the same person - Taylor. She approached Layla and offered her help and support. While the friendship between Layla and Tara grew, Taylor became desperate and couldn't work without Layla. So she tried to apologies to Layla together with Aurora and Sophia. Layla wished good luck to them, and told them that they showed their true colors and she also said that she doesn't need such friends like them in her life.
Layla felt relived after she had spoken to them. She turned to Tara. She saw Tara smiling brightly to her with pride. At that moment Layla realized that support from Tara became a real friendship. Friendship isn't just about sweet words and moments, because you will find a real friend in hard and unpredictable moments that will stand up for you and be there when no one was.
