The girl was walking down the street when she saw an old woman having trouble carrying some heavy bags. The woman walked slowly and looked tired. The girl quickly ran to help. She picked up one of the bags and walked with the woman to her house. On the way, the woman smiled and talked quietly to her. She thanked the girl and said it was nice to meet someone so kind, becaus she did not have many people around her. The girl listened carefully.
She wanted to make the woman happy, so she stayed with her while they walked. She made sure the woman was steady. They talked quietly, and the girl listened to the woman's stories. She noticed how the woman's eyes shone when she spoke, and how her shoulders relaxed when the girl carried one of the heavier bags. When they reached the woman's house, the girl helped bring the bags inside. Then they sat on the porch for a little while. The woman shared more stories from her life, and the girl laughed quietly with her. She felt happy inside, warm and bright, just from helping and spending time with someone. After that, the girl went home. Her parents were waiting, worried and scared. They asked why she had been gone so long. For a moment, they were upset because they were afraid something bad had happened. The girl calmly told them everything. She explained how she helped the old woman carry the heavy bags and how lonely the woman seemed. As they listened, their worry slowly turned into pride. They hugged their daughter and told her they were proud of her kindness. They also asked her to always tell them or call next time so they wouldn't worry. Later, the parents thought about the old woman and what their daughter had said about her being alone. Then they had an idea. They called the girl into the kitchen, and together they baked a cake. When it was finished, they decorated it carefully and wrote a small note:
"Dear Madam ,we made this cake for you and hope you like it. If you ever want company or need help, please call us." Their phone number was at the bottom.
The family happily walked to the woman's house with the cake. When they rang the doorbell, the woman opend it and smiled. She was very happy to see the girl again and meet her parents. She thanked them for the cake,the visit, and most of all, for the kindness of their daughter. After that, they spent some time together. They played board games, talked, laughed and got to know each other better. The house was full of warmth and joy. When it was time to leave, the woman thanked them againg for everything and asked them to come back whenever they could.
The parents and the girl walked home feeling happy and full of kindness. They knew they would never forget that day because it was full of goodness, joy and a simple act of kindness that brought people together. As they walked home, the girl felt something she had never felt before. It was not the happiness that comes from gifts or money, but a quiet, warm feeling in her heart.
