THE DAY THAT CHANGED EVERYTHING
Hello guys, I'm here to tell you about the day that changed my life, the most magnificent day in the world. My name is Faith. I'm a college student hoping to be an actor one day. I never believed in true love. I thought that the only thing I needed in life were my friends. My beloved friends. Well, never say never. Let me take you on this journey where I proved myself wrong. I'm originally from the UK, York to be specific. My best friend is Amber. We grew up in this place. It's our home. I always dreamed of starring on Broadway. Only with my friends. Until one day I woke up at nine to a very disturbing email. It was from Holly.
"AMBER DIED IN A CAR CRASH TODAY AT 7AM. I'M SO SORRY. MEET ME AT THE TOWN'S CAFE AT TEN" It said.
I stood there in shock not being able to move an inch. When I finally had enough courage to stand up, I hurriedly put on my clothes and rushed to the cafe to meet up with Holly my face again showing no emotion,just shock and disbelief. When I came to the cafe, Holly was already standing there. I rushed to give her a hug. I didn't want to let go and neither did she. I finally said something.
"It can't be true. "I said shakingly.
"I know, I don't want to believe it either " she said right back.
Tears fell down my face while Holly was trying to hold hers back.
"Where is Sophia?" I asked.
"She's coming and when she arrives we're all going back to my place."
Sophia came and we all went back to Holly's place. She gave us hot cocoa hoping that it would comfort us. It didn't. we all cuddled up on the sofa and began questioning our lives.
Yeah, that's how I stopped believing in happiness. That was until I met Edward. Here is how we met.
Six months went by, and I have already come to terms with fate.
It was supposed to be a boring old Monday, nothing special. I was in class when suddenly a student stormed into the classroom. He apologized and the teacher introduced him to the class. My eyes locked eye contact with him and, of course, crazy coincidence I was the only one sitting alone now that Amber's gone. The teacher seated him next to me and I immediately got butterflies.
He said "Hi" to me and I (after coming to my senses) answered back. The teacher told us to open our books to page 58. We went to grab our books and his hand accidentally brushed mine. I blushed and just smiled but I was screaming inside. He didn't say a word or make any emotion, he just opened his books and pretended like nothing happened.
"Faith what are you doing, boys are just a waste of time! Thats what Amber always used to say " I thought to myself. The bell rang; I packed my bag and rushed to Holly's. I told her everything. She immediately asked what he looks like. I began telling her.
"He has beautiful brown curly hair and sparkling blue eyes"I said .
I kept going like he was some kind of prince from a fairytale, I mean for me he was.
When I finally finished, Holly told me to get dressed and that we were going to the cafe again. We always go there because it was Amber's favorite place to go.
As I stepped out of the apartment my face faded from happy to an emotion I can't even describe.
Standing outside was a man who was a little bit taller than me with brown curly hair.
He was also getting out of his apartment. Holly realized who he was and said hi. We walked together to the elevator. I went to push the button but so did he! Our fingers touched.Butterflies went trough my body. We got out and headed to the cafe but of course,"lucky "as I usually am, he was heading there ,too. It was an awkward walk, but we made it to the cafe. We sat at our table, and he thank goodness sat pretty far away, at least far enough for me and Holly to have a conversation about him without him hearing us.
"Hello, what can I get you?" Said the waitress.
"I'll have an iced coffee, and she will have a latte please. Thank you."
"Coming right up!"
"So that's Edward." Holly said.
"Yeah, and he's your neighbor next door!" I panicked.
"So? " Holly said clearly confused.
"Don't you see what this means? I'm barely gonna be able to visit you"
"Girl don't be dramatic, you sit next to each other almost every day and still there's a small chance he goes out of his apartment the second you're coming to mine" She said rolling her eyes.
"I know but there's still a chance " I said.
"A coffee and a latte " said the waitress.
"Thank you " We said.
"Ok, now drink before it's cold." Holly said to me.
And we just sat there and drank coffee. The next few days went by fast. But I still remember one day when I couldn't hold back anymore . I told him how I feel how I always get butterflies and that I want to live my life with him by my side. I wasn't expecting a good response.He opened his mouth and said.
" Faith, I thought you hate me, I mean, you don't even talk to me at all."
Those words filled my heart with warmth.
"Because I'm embarrased, silly!" I answered back.
And then we shared the most magical kiss.
We continued our life together by acting on shows and loving each other.
I think that Amber would be happy for us.
And I have a feeling she sent him my way.
