The day that changed everything

Once upon a time on the planet of Celestis lived a young man called Charlie, together with his good friend Frankie. You may wonder why I started talking about some random people from a planet nobody ever heard about, but I am sure you will find this story quite interesting. So, let's dive in this unbelievable story about how Charlie and Frankie save the whole land!

It was a fresh summer night and Charlie was fishing. He loves looking at the stars and admiring them. While he was stargazing, he noticed an unusual spot in the sky. Now, most people would assume it was just a cloud or something like that, but Charlie knew the sky like the back of his hand and he would most definitely know when something wasn't right, especially when it came to the summer night sky. Since he was a child, he loved learning about the stars, planets, constellations, black holes and so much more. He had always dreamed of becoming an astronomer, but his family was struggling to put the food on the table, let alone send him to astronomy college. He knew he should immediately explore the strange spot on the sky.

Suddenly, Charlie heard a strange noise coming from behind him. He turned around, but he didn't see anything. Then he jumped in front of him, it was Frankie, his best friend! "You scared me!" said Charlie. "I know, I was just teasing you!" said Frankie.

They started playing cards and talking about their day when Charlie mentioned what he saw in the sky earlier. Frankie was very confused since Celestis was certified as the most boring planet - nothing interesting happens there. The thing is, Charlie always believed that nothing is impossible, unlike Frankie - he simply went with what most people said. That is understandable, since Charlie was from a very poor family and was taught to believe, while Frankie came from a royal family who tried to make him to fit in as much as possible.

Charlie needed a telescope to determine what was going on, but he didn't have any sort of equipment, so he asked Frankie if he could borrow some from his family. "No, I'm sorry, you need to focus on getting back to reality. Not everything is real, it's just your imagination. Snap out a bit!" said Frankie. Charlie got very upset and left. He spent a few days looking for a job that could be better than fishing and he found one at the local restaurant - he became a waiter.

Frankie was also upset, not because Charlie didn't have the same mindset as him, but because he got in an argument with his best friend for no good reason. He went to the spot Charlie would spend most of his time fishing and looking at the beautiful night sky. He spent so much time trying to figure out how he should apologise and ended up falling asleep. When he woke up, beneath the gorgeous night sky, he noticed the weird spot Charlie was talking about. But not one, there were two spots! It was really interesting to watch them, but then he realised they were slowly colliding. Frankie realised why Charlie thought it was important to notice even the smallest changes (such as a small spot on the sky). It was because they could be the most important ones! So, he grabbed his telescope and took a better look at them.

Frankie couldn't believe his eyes, there were some little creatures up there! "Hmmm, what could those be?" wondered Frankie. "I should let Charlie know about this." While he was rushing to Charlie's house, he bumped into him. "Hi, Charlie, I'm very sorry about what I said to you yesterday. I really didn't mean anything bad..." said Frankie. "It's OK, I should have accepted what you said. You were right. Not everything can be the way I think it is and I made my peace with it." replied Charlie. Frankie needed to explain to Charlie how he should immediately look at those spots, since they were coming closer to each other. Charlie didn't hesitate and took a closer look. He could not believe his eyes. "I CAN'T BELIEVE I'M WITNESSING THIS!" he shouted. "YOU SAW DOGOPS COMING TOGETHER NEAR OUR PLANET AND YOU DIDN'T TELL ME?!" Frankie looked at him like he was speaking a whole different language. "I'm sorry, what did I see? I can't understand a single word you're saying", he said. "See, Rogops are mythical creatures that lived centuries ago. They were wild, loved doing pranks and messed with everyone. Sogops, on the other hand, were peaceful, calm and quiet. A long time ago, they lived in a community called Dogops. It was founded on the planet of Gyrot, where everyone could live in perfect harmony. One day the Rogops got tired of constantly being in the same place and wanted to convince Sogops to leave Gyrot in search of new adventures. One thing led to another and they ended up in a war that left Gyrot in pieces. Rogops and Sogops found themselves on opposite sides of the universe. The legend says that the next time they come together, the closest planet will be ruined just like Gyrot", explained Charlie. The only way to prevent war from happening again was separating them or try to reason with them. Frankie and Charlie needed to decide quickly what they should do to assure Celestis' safety without causing panic on their planet.

The two friends decided to help Dogops to work things out. They spent a few days trying to figure out how they could safely send a message to Dogops so they could finally stop fighting and make space a better place for everyone. "We can't do this if we are here on Celestis. We need to go up there and talk to them", said Charlie, while thinking how he could go up there. "Wait, I'm pretty sure my family has an astronaut suit and a jetpack. Maybe we could use that to go up?" said Frankie.

They agreed to go up with the jetpack since it was the only option and they needed to go up there as soon as possible. First, they would visit the Sogops, since they are much friendlier and talk them into making up with the Rogops.

On the way to Sogops, they were talking about how they should come up to them and convince them to make peace with their enemies. When they arrived, the Sogops were friendly and made them feel very welcome. They also wanted to make peace with Rogops, but they knew how unfriendly they were and thought they probably didn't feel the same. Charlie and Frankie became good friends with the Sogops and assured them that they will do their best and end this war once and for all.

Sogops launched them with a catapult so they could reach Rogops faster. Once they arrived, Rogops were ready to attack. "Don't attack! We come in peace!" yelled Charlie. The Rogops were confused. All this time they thought everyone hated them and wanted to destroy them after what happened with the Sogops. It was just self defence all this time! They also wanted peace, more than anything else, but they were too ashamed to admit that, so they kept attacking. Charlie and Frankie talked long and hard with them. After Sogops and Rogops finally met, everybody instantly started apologising one to another and Dogops was reunited once again! The one thing they needed was a new place to live in, since Gyrot was destroyed. "I know, why don't you stay here, on Celestis?" Frankie said excitedly. They were confused. "Why would they want to stay on a planet dominated by a specie that spread hurtful rumours about them for hundreds of years?" asked Charlie quietly. The Dogops thought about it for a while and finally the leaders said: "It doesn't matter what others said about us. We lived separated for centuries because of a misunderstanding and now we have to give Dogops another chance. We say that Dogops should stay on Celestis and everybody should get an opportunity to explain themselves. Frankie and Charlie agreed. They were excited because Celestis needed something new, and bringing a whole new specie would definitely do the trick.

All the creatures from Dogops arrived on Celestis. Celestinians were shocked. Not aggressive, not angry, not yelling, just standing there staring at the newcomers. "Hello, we are Dogops as you may know. We just wanted to tell you we are sorry. Nobody wants history to repeat itself and we all hope it won't. We hope you could forgive us..." The locals immediately accepted them without hesitation. They just clicked. The two species lived happily ever after in harmony. And we can thank Charlie and Frankie's curiosity for that.
