It was a typical Saturday morning. The sun was shining and it was warm. It was a nice spring day, but I didn't want to go outside and I didn't want to do my homework yet. I was already bored. My little sister was happy and I could hear her laughing. She was still in her pyjamas and she was sitting on the sofa watching cartoons in the living room. My mum was at my aunt's house and my dad was working on something in the garage, so I was at home with my sisters, again. I thought this was going to be just another boring weekend, but I was wrong.
Everyone knew I wanted a pet. My mum knew, my dad knew, my sisters knew, my friends knew and even my aunts, uncles and grandparents knew how much I wanted a pet. So, while my sister watched cartoons, I dreamed of a pet. I didn't know that when my mum was at my aunt's house, my aunt somehow talked my mum into letting me have a pet.
Later that day, my aunt Lidija called me and invited me to come over to her house. She said she had to go to Grandpa Ilija's house and thought it would be nice if I came too. I was bored and had nothing else to do, so I said yes. I got ready and walked to my aunt's house. It wasn't far because she lives next door. When I got there, my aunt Lidija told me that we weren't going to Grandpa Ilija's house, but to her auntie Marija's house instead. I knew it was a surprise, but I couldn't guess what it was.
When we got there, we quickly went inside and auntie Marija took us to the kitchen. There was a big box on the floor under the kitchen table and I could hear some noises coming from the box. I couldn't believe it! I saw six little kittens in the box! They were so cute! I liked one little kitten at first sight! It was light grey and brown with little black spots and it had big, beautiful green eyes. When I saw it, my heart melted. I thought she was so lucky! I dreamed of having a pet cat, and auntie Marija had six of them! Then my aunt Lidija told me that she talked to my mum and that I could take one of the little kittens home. I couldn't believe it! I ran over to the box and looked for the light grey and brown kitten with little black spots. It was sleeping in the corner. I carefully picked it up. It was so soft! At first it was scared but then it calmed down and started purring. I was so happy that I was crying. This was the day that changed everything. I knew we were going to be best friends and I knew I wouldn't be bored anymore because my kitten was with me. I named my kitten Mrvica.
