It is with joy that I invite you to our HUPE Slavonski Brod Branch meeting. It will be held on Tuesday, 5th May, at 3:30 pm. The meeting will take place at Elementary School “Ivana Brlić-Mažuranić” – Zagrebačka 78, Slavonski Brod.

This workshop presents practical, scaffolded strategies for teaching writing through the theme of kindness and friendly communication. The presenters demonstrate a structured writing sequence that includes vocabulary development, tone awareness, guided email writing, peer feedback, and the use of figurative language. The workshop also highlights the ethical use of AI tools as brainstorming support in the writing process. Overall, the workshop emphasizes how clear scaffolding and emotionally engaging topics can enhance student motivation, creativity, and writing quality in the English classroom.
- Acquiring Language Outside the Classroom: Camping in a School Yard - Sandra Halt-Ćuže, prof.
In today's globalized world, language learning does not have to be limited to classrooms. Informal environments offer rich opportunities for acquiring language skills through everyday interactions and activities. My reflections and examples will address how the rooms of the home, the city, outings, the garden, the park, and the marketplace can serve as dynamic environments for language learning. My teaching experience will especially address the example of „Camping in the schoolyard/park“ as a lead on example of fusing a schoolbook lesson into a vivid language acquisition which not only enhances language use but also develops their social skills and builds up students’ creativity and imagination.
